We offer a counselling service at Patford House every Thursday afternoon from 1pm to 3.15pm. To use this service, you need to make an appointment with your Doctor, who will refer you to the counsellor if needed.

We provide a variety of non-NHS services. Our Doctors will sign passport applications if you have been registered with the Practice for 2 years or more.  We also carry out Private Medicals for registered and un-registered patients and sign most types of insurance form. These services are provided but incur a small charge, so please check with reception for these charges before proceeding with your request.

We have Complementary Therapists working from Patford House Surgery offering a range of services including Chiropody, Osteopathy, Psychotherapy, Physiotherapy, and Acupuncture.

Choose & Book has been introduced to offer patients a wider choice of Hospitals and Clinics, should they need to be referred to a specialist by their Doctor. It also means that patients are able to book their own appointment at a date and time convenient to them.

When you are referred to a Specialist by your Doctor, the Choose & Book system informs your Doctor which Hospitals or Clinics are available for your treatment and gives details of the current waiting times. It is a service that allows you to choose which Hospital or Clinic you wish to attend and also lets you choose the date and time of your Hospital appointment. When you have made your choice, your Doctor will provide you with an Appointment Request form which details the Hospital option(s) you have chosen, the telephone number to make your appointment, a 12 digit Unique Booking Reference Number (UBRN) and a Password. You will be asked for this information when you telephone to make your Hospital appointment.

Going abroad on holiday or for business? We offer a full range of services from our Travel Clinic. We are an approved yellow fever centre and also provide Travel Vaccinations and Prescriptions. The nurse will be able to determine from your completed Travel Questionnaire whether or not you require any additional services.  So it is very important that we have this information several days before your Travel Clinic appointment.  You do not have to be registered at this surgery to receive these services.  Before we see you, download the travel questionaire, fill this in and bring it along to your appointment.  Travel Questionnaires are also available from Reception.

Remember!

Remember to organise your vaccinations well in advance before your trip. Many vaccines take 3-4 weeks to become fully effective.  So ideally you should be seeing one of our Nurses at least 6 weeks before your intended travel.  Some services will be charged for. Don’t forget to bring along your vaccination history to your appointment.
